STEM/STEAM Presentations

In our FPE training as well as in our STEM/STEAM presentations at schools, both parents and students are informed of the limited time to escape their homes when fire breaks out.

The time quoted here is related to flashover and not necessarily human tenability which may be much less.

Fire is chemistry in action. Fire Protection Engineers apply science and engineering principles to fire principles to protect people and property by preventing, mitigating, or removing consequences in various ways.

Defense at home includes but is not limted to (in home sprinklers, too) are:
1. Housekeeping at home with proper storage,
2. Installing smoke detectors CORRECTLY,
3. Properly placed extinguishers, and
4. Educating our families on home fire response and home fire escape plans/practice.

Be fire safe, teach fire safety, and practice fire safety!
